The Evening Living Room for People Living Alone\u00a0project aims to strengthen the inclusion, sense of meaning, and well-being of working-age adults who live alone. It offers both individual and small group activities, shaped by the ideas and needs of the participants. Activities are also co-created and planned together, and visitors can take part in organizing them.<\/div>\n
The project\u2019s meeting and activity points are located in Turku\u2019s neighborhood living rooms.<\/div>\n

The project implements the National Basic Skills Badges (KAPOS badges) both in adult education courses and in basic skills groups aimed at young adults. The project also creates a customer guidance model for directing young adults to basic skills groups\/courses. <\/span><\/p>\n

The project is funded by the Finnish National Agency for Education (2024\u20132026) and is a collaborative project with the Kuopio and Sein\u00e4joki adult education centers. <\/span><\/p>\n

JOK \u2013 Mobile Competence Development Clinic was a project implemented by Auralan Settlement Association from 2018 to 2021, funded by the European Social Fund, targeting adult working immigrants. The aim of the project was to develop the skills of those in working life to enable staying and advancing in working life. The project offered participants teaching and guidance in basic skills such as Finnish language, mathematics, and work-life skills. Teaching and guidance were provided both individually and in small groups in a clinic-like manner and as outreach activities to workplaces.<\/p>\n

JOK Final Report<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=”Default” heading_tag=”default” heading_tag_functionality=”default” title=”Competence-Based Course Descriptions in Adult and Workers’ Institutes OSKU”][vc_column_text]The importance of continuous learning in the competence system is emphasized. The purpose of this project is to expand the knowledge of the institute network staff on the importance of lifelong learning, competence-based learning, and the recognition of competence. With the readiness provided by the project, the competence-based course offerings of adult and workers’ institutes will be increased. Competence-based learning and documentation in adult and workers’ institutes improve recognition and the identification of competence. The implementation of the project online strengthens the staff’s online working routines. Joint development of competence-based learning increases transparency and the significance of institutes as part of the regional competence system.<\/p>\n

The project is a joint project of the regional Joy of Learning network and is coordinated by Auralan Adult Education Center. The project is funded by the Finnish National Agency for Education and continues until September 30, 2023.<\/p>\n

This supports participants in recognizing their own strengths and increases their opportunities for employment. The project is funded by the Finnish National Agency for Education and lasts until May 31, 2022.<\/p>\n

Summary of Project Implementation<\/a>[\/vc_column_text][\/toggle][toggle color=”Default” heading_tag=”default” heading_tag_functionality=”default” title=”A Stronger Path to Studies VAPO”][vc_column_text]The project supports young immigrants in developing study skills and Finnish language skills. The study is conducted in group teaching in four different modules. The modules focus on joint application in early spring, text skills in spring, preparation for autumn studies in summer, and study skills in autumn. Teaching can be organized in-person or remotely. The project is funded by the Finnish National Agency for Education and lasts until the end of 2022.

We work with victims of violence and, if the situation allows, also with perpetrators and other close parties. In Safe Work, we also guide groups.<\/p>\n

Honor-related conflicts and violence often manifest as restrictions on family members’ movement and social freedom, control, and coercion, as well as intimate partner violence involving pressure from families or communities. Forms of honor-related violence also include forced marriage, genital mutilation, and honor killings.<\/p>\n

Both women and men experience honor-related violence, with sexual and gender minorities being particularly vulnerable. Perpetrators of violence can also be men, women, and non-binary individuals.<\/p>\n

In Safe Work, we offer consultation and training on the topic to other social, health, and education professionals.<\/p>\n

OOO! The ‘Learn, Master, Succeed’ project is intended for adults who wish to develop their basic skills. The project offers coaching that provides assistance with, for example, mathematical, digital, and communication basic skills, as well as study skills. The coaching strengthens skills, thereby improving opportunities to secure employment or a study place.<\/p>\n
