Clubs for seniors

Club activities for seniors

Aurala's senior work organizes several clubs led by both peer counselors and paid counselors. The club activities are part of the living room activities, which means that participation costs nothing and is open to everyone. Clubs also meet outside the walls of Aurala.

Club activities are a great way to get out of the house and find something meaningful to do to brighten up your day, especially if you live alone. Often the activity itself may remain secondary and seeing other people and being in company becomes the main part.

Seniors sing

Groups gathering in Aurala:

Aurala's parliament

Starting from August 4th, Mondays at 1-2:30 PM
in Aurora Hall, Satakunnantie 10

Discussion in a good spirit. Parliament meets on Mondays to hang out of the week's interesting news topics. The topics are decided in the group themselves. The group operates under the guidance of a peer leader.

Musaklub

Starting from September 4th, Thursdays 9:30–11:00
Aurora Hall, Satakunnantie 10

The activities are designed and planned with visitors. We are going to be together and have a nice thing to do with music. Let's listen to music, share thoughts about music, feel. You don't have to know how to sing or play, it is enough to enjoy the music. The group is led by Sari Lohva.

SENIORS' EVENING SHOULDER

Starting from 4.9. on Thursdays at 17.15-18.45
, University Building, Louhenpolku 3

The activities are designed and planned with visitors. At least there is a nice time together and quizzes, for example. Don't be left alone, bring in the group! The group is led by Elsa Rannikko.

Senior Backs 60+ (SESI)

Starting August 15th, Fridays from 1-3 pm
, Aurora Hall, Satakunnantie 10

This active group meets on Fridays in Aurala and on other days somewhere else. We do familiar things, we invent and implement new ones and we are involved in many things. There is no ready-made program, but we plan and do what we feel is meaningful. Not everyone has to participate in everything (fortunately), but there is definitely something to be or do for everyone. Take the opportunity and come along, no obligations - just like playing!
