Clubs for seniors

Club activities for seniors

Aurala's senior work organizes several clubs led by both peer counselors and paid counselors. The club activities are part of the living room activities, which means that participation costs nothing and is open to everyone. Clubs also meet outside the walls of Aurala.

Club activities are a great way to get out of the house and find something meaningful to do to brighten up your day, especially if you live alone. Often the activity itself may remain secondary and seeing other people and being in company becomes the main part.

GROUPS MEETING IN AURA:

Aurala Parliament
Mondays from 13:00 to 14:30
Aurora hall, Satakuntatie 10

Free-form discussion about current news topics. The Aurala Parliament closely follows the news flow and discusses current topics. Aurala's parliament is a peer-to-peer activity and it decides on the selected themes itself. Coffee is enjoyed during the discussion.

Musaklubi
Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Aurala living room, Satakuntatie 10

Activities are conceptualized and planned together with visitors. There will be a time together and a nice time working on music. Let's listen to music, share thoughts about music, let's feel it. You don't need to know how to sing or play. You can also come to the place just to chat and drink coffee when it suits you.

SeSi or SenioriSinkut 60+
Fridays from 13:00 to 15:00
Aurora hall, Satakuntatie 10

This active group meets on Fridays in Aurala and on other days somewhere else. We do familiar things, we invent and implement new ones and we are involved in many things. There is no ready-made program, but we plan and do what we feel is meaningful. Not everyone has to participate in everything (fortunately), but there is definitely something to be or do for everyone. Take the opportunity and come along, no obligations - just like playing!

Dandelions
First Wednesday of every month
in Aurala's living room from 14:00 to 16:00

A group for seniors and people over 50 who belong to sexual and gender minorities.

The meetings are peer-to-peer and a safe space where topics important to the participants are discussed, with trust and respect for others. Activities are also planned together. The activity is free of charge and does not require prior registration. Peer instructor Maria acts as the leader of the group. We follow the principles of a safer space.

AURALA CLUBS MEETING ELSEWHERE:

Lausteen Lähiötupa, Kirjurinkatu 3

Activities are conceptualized and planned together with visitors. There will be at least coffee and quizzes, maybe also card games, crafts, music or even local excursions. You can also come to the place just to chat and drink coffee when it suits you.
