What is this ‘Living Room’ all about? Who is it for?

Aurala’s living room is a meeting place and gathering space that’s open to everyone – regardless of age, gender, culture, or life situation – that means you too!

What Can You Do in the Living Room and when Can You Come?

Our community living room is open for self-service every weekday according to Aurala’s office hours! This means you can come and go freely, read the daily newspaper, or grab a board game from the shelf to play, either alone or with others. The living room has free restrooms, and from the affordable coffee machine, you can buy cocoa and specialty coffees in addition to regular coffee. We also have a book exchange point where you can find new reads or bring your unused books to circulate. In addition, we organize various events and activities in the living room.

All living room activities are free of charge!

Activities at Aurala’s Living Room

ACTIVE LIVING ROOM ON MONDAYS AT 1:30 PM - 3 PM

Mondays from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Aurala, Louhenpolku 3, classroom 12.

Come spend your Monday afternoon at Aurala with fun activities! Each time has a different theme.

November program: Active Living Room November

The Active Living Room is open and free for everyone. For Finnish learners, this is a great opportunity to practice Finnish through activities.

You don’t need to register in advance. Free coffee, tea, and biscuits are available.

Come join us!

NEIGHBORHOOD COFFEE ON TUESDAYS AT 10 AM – 12:30 PM

Every Tuesday, free coffee is available for everyone in Aurala’s living room from 10 AM to 12:30 PM. Drop by quickly for coffee or stay longer to sit with others, according to your own schedule. Daily newspapers are available to read, there’s a chance to play board games, you can chat with others, or if you prefer, just quietly be present with others.

EVENING LIVING ROOM FOR WORKING-AGE INDIVIDUALS LIVING ALONE

Living alone, are you tired of being by yourself? Do you wish for activities for your free time or content for empty moments? Do you long for company in the evenings or someone to bounce ideas off of?

Come join the evening living room activities in community living rooms across the city! Learn about the activities and come join us!

Role-Playing Evenings at Aurala

Hey adventurer,
come to the role-playing living room!

Are you interested in a fantasy world? Would you like to try role-playing but aren’t sure where to start?

During the autumn, the Role-Playing Living Room will host seven different free, beginner-friendly role-playing adventures, where you can get acquainted with role-playing as a hobby and play in a relaxed atmosphere!

The role-playing games are aimed at adults of all ages, and you can participate without prior experience. An experienced game master will help you get started and teach you the basics of playing!

Games are organized every other week from 5 PM to 8 PM:

18.9., 30.9. 16.10., 28.10., 13.11., 25.11. and 11.12.

At Aurala Settlement’s premises at Satakunnantie 10, Turku.

Pre-game communication and registration for games take place on the Discord server.

Peer instructors help with all kinds of digital problems. Bring your own device and drop by for advice! We operate on a first-come, first-served basis, and you can find us in the lobby of Aurala’s institute building.
