Look at That! Project
Implementation period: September 2, 2024 – June 30, 2026
Funder: Finnish National Agency for Education, Quality and Development Grant for Liberal Adult Education 2024
Project participants:
Aurala Settlement Association / Aurala Adult Education Center
Kuopio Adult Education Center
Seinäjoki Adult Education Center
Project coordination: Kuopio Adult Education Center
The project has a common component, in addition to which each participating institute has its own sub-project.
The Look at That! project creates an operational model where the target group of 18-35-year-olds strengthen their basic skills and become empowered as heroes of their own lives. Especially those over 30 often fall outside many services. Young people need a place to connect to, where they can practice group work and study skills, and strengthen their self-efficacy. Adult education centers are excellent institutions for this, as their current activities are already based on resource-centered pedagogy. The project involves service design for the implementation of KAPOS badges (National Basic Skills Competence Badges) among adult education centers and partners.
Project objectives in brief
- Service design for the KAPOS badge implementation process and modeling of client guidance together with service-referring entities, taking into account regional differences.
- Piloting KAPOS courses and sharing best practices. Identifying the “KAPOS eligibility” of existing courses and piloting new KAPOS courses.
- Identifying participants’ skills and strengths, engaging in activities, and increasing resources and work-life readiness.
- Creating a national model for implementing KAPOS badges in adult education centers, especially for young people, and actively communicating the project results.
