What Does a Credit Course Mean?
A credit course means that you can earn credits and a completion record in the register maintained by the Finnish National Agency for Education if you wish. You can also participate in the course freely as a hobby, as before. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive credits in Your Own Study Path, from which you can share completion records as a link, for example, to an employer.
- The learning objectives of the courses describe what you will learn and what you will be able to do after completing the course.
- The assessment criteria for credit courses describe in more detail the skills required for successful completion of the course.
- One credit corresponds to 27 hours of study, including instruction and, for example, independent work.
How to Earn Credits
- Register for a credit course.
- Inform the course teacher at the beginning that you want credits. The teacher will explain the assessment criteria and evaluation in more detail.
- You will receive a signature invitation by email.
- Sign the consent form electronically so we can record the completion and credits in Your Own Study Path. If needed, contact Aurala’s office: toimisto@aurala.fi or 050 316 7702
- Participate actively in the course, study, and develop your skills. Successful course completion requires meeting the set assessment criteria. Attendance of at least ¾ of the course is recommended.
- The teacher will evaluate your course performance according to the announced schedule on a Pass/Fail scale, and you will be informed of the assessment.
- Check your completion record in the Your Own Study Path system.
